چکیده
The venous anomalies of thorax are common, but the only drainage 1st and 2nd posterior intercostal veins on both sides into internal vertebral plexus with no communication to azygos system is reported for first time. common hemiazygos vein singular receiving all left from 4th 11th subcostal side. This drains right. It also connects cranial end via an anomalous Left SVC. receives 3rd vein. On right, normal.

Left superior vena cava with left azygos vein.
An incidence of a left superior vena cava with a left azygos vein was found in a cadaver during an Osaka Dental University student's dissection practice session in 2002. The left superior vena cava began from the confluence between the right and left brachiocephalic veins, and extended directly into the left superior edge of the coronary sinus. No right superior vena cava was observed. The left...

Persistence of the left superior vena cava is not uncommon in children with congenital heart disease and is occasionally found in adults at thoracotomy. The anomalous vena cava usually carries venous blood from the upper part of the body to the right atrium via the coronary sinus and has little functional significance. In the four patients we describe, however, the left superior vena cava drain...

A 59-year-old woman with known breast cancer presented liver lesions. As part of a metastatic workup, a thoracoabdominal enhanced contrast CT was performed. It revealed a persistent left superior vena cava (SVC) which reached the right atrium via an enlarged coronary sinus. This CT-scan also demonstrated the hemiazygos vein which was connected to the left SVC via the left superior intercostal v...

erally from the aortic arch. Enlargement of the nipple is usually due to dilation of the left superior intercostal vein as it heads for the left innominate vein lateral to the aortic arch. Where the superior vena cava or, occasionally, the inferior vena cava-is obstructed, the aortic nipple becomes prominent and enlarged (1-4); according to Friedman et al. (1), a nipple larger than 4.5 mm in di...

The case of a 24-year-old male with complaints of migraine headaches was referred for echocardiography. The rest of medical history was unremarkable. Agitated saline contrast bubble study showed evidence of a right to left intracardiac shunt, probably secondary to a patent foramen ovale. Results of a transesophageal echocardiogram suggested the possibility of an anomalous venous circulation and...
